Hi everyone,
I’m planning a family holiday to Kerala in 2025 and would love some advice from experienced travelers and local experts. We’re a family of four with kids, so we’re looking for a balance of pleasant weather, family-friendly activities, and not-too-crowded tourist spots.
I’ve read that Kerala has three distinct travel seasons – winter (October to February), summer (March to May), and monsoon (June to September) – but I’m still confused about which one is truly the best for a family trip.
Is winter really the peak season with the most comfortable weather for sightseeing, backwater cruises, and visiting Munnar, Alleppey, and Thekkady?
Is summer too hot and humid for kids, or can we still enjoy hill stations like Wayanad and Munnar?
How about the monsoon season – I’ve heard it’s the best time for Ayurvedic treatments and lush green scenery, but is it safe and convenient for family travel with children?
We’re also interested in houseboat stays in Alleppey or Kumarakom, exploring wildlife sanctuaries, and spending a couple of days at Kovalam or Varkala beaches.
So, based on your experience, what is the best time to visit Kerala for a family holiday that balances good weather, affordable pricing, and memorable activities? Any tips on month-wise travel recommendations, local festivals, or offbeat family-friendly destinations in Kerala would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!
