Manali is generally considered safe for solo female travellers. Old Manali is quite touristy with lots of cafés and backpackers, so you won’t feel out of place. Mall Road is usually crowded until late evening, but after 9–10 PM, it gets quieter, so avoid walking alone in dimly lit areas. For treks and day trips (like Jogini Waterfall or Solang Valley), it’s safer to join a small group or go with a local guide — not just for safety but also for navigation. Avoid wandering alone at night on isolated roads or riverside trails. Most locals are helpful and respectful, but just follow basic travel precautions.
