“Hi everyone, I’m planning my first trip to Bangkok in 2025 and I’m a bit confused about which area would be the best to stay in as a tourist. I’ll be visiting for about 5–6 days and I want to explore the main attractions like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, local markets, and also enjoy some nightlife and shopping.
I’ve heard about places like Sukhumvit, Khao San Road, Silom, and Riverside, but I’m not sure which one would be the most convenient and safe for tourists. My budget is mid-range (not backpacker cheap, but not luxury either), and I’d prefer an area that’s well connected by public transport (BTS/MRT).
Can anyone who has stayed in Bangkok recently suggest the best areas to book a hotel or Airbnb? Also, are there any areas I should avoid for safety reasons?”
