Hi everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Singapore and I keep coming across mixed opinions about how expensive the city is for travelers. Some people say it’s one of the most costly destinations in Asia, while others mention that it can actually be affordable if you know where to look.
I’d love to hear from those of you who have recently visited:
How much should I realistically budget per day for accommodation, food, and sightseeing?
Are there affordable hotel or hostel options in good locations, or does staying in Singapore always mean paying a premium?
Is eating at hawker centers and food courts really cheap compared to restaurants?
What about attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Universal Studios, and the Singapore Zoo—do these make the trip expensive, or are there free/low-cost activities worth doing instead?
Any money-saving tips you personally used (like transport passes, free attractions, or affordable neighborhoods to stay in)?
Basically, I’m trying to figure out whether Singapore is “expensive” only when you travel in luxury, or if even budget travelers will find it costly compared to other Southeast Asian destinations like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, or Bali.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and tips!
