Hi everyone,
I’ll be visiting Singapore soon and have around 4–5 free days. While most of my time will be spent exploring Singapore itself, I was wondering if it’s possible to do a day trip from Singapore either to Malaysia (Johor Bahru or maybe even Kuala Lumpur?) or to Batam, Indonesia.
A few things I’m curious about:
How easy is the immigration and transport process for a same-day return?
Is Johor Bahru worth visiting just for a day, or would you recommend pushing further into Malaysia?
For Batam, I’ve read mixed reviews—some say it’s great for food and massages, while others say it’s not really worth the trip. What’s the actual experience like?
How much time should I expect to spend crossing borders, especially during weekends or holidays?
If you had to pick just one day trip (Johor Bahru vs Batam), which would you recommend and why?
I’ll be traveling solo, interested in food, culture, shopping, and some sightseeing, but I don’t want to spend most of the day stuck in queues. Any first-hand tips, recommended transport options, or must-do experiences would be really helpful!
Thanks in advance 😊
