Hi everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Singapore soon and I’ve been reading about the public transport system. I understand that the MRT and buses are the easiest and most affordable way to get around the city. I came across two options – the EZ-Link card and the Singapore Tourist Pass (STP) – but I’m a little confused about which one is better and how to actually get them.
A few questions I’d love some help with:
Where can I buy an EZ-Link card or a Tourist Pass? Can I get them directly at the airport (Changi) or only at MRT stations?
How much do they cost initially, and do they come preloaded with credit or do I need to top them up?
Is the Tourist Pass worth it if I’ll be in Singapore for 3–4 days, or would an EZ-Link card be more cost-effective?
Can these cards be used on both MRT and public buses seamlessly?
For topping up the EZ-Link card, is it easy to do at MRT stations or 7-Eleven stores?
Do I need to return the Tourist Pass to get a refund, or can I keep it as a souvenir?
I’d love to hear from travelers who’ve used either option – what was your experience? Any tips for first-time visitors trying to get around Singapore without spending too much on taxis?
Thanks in advance for your help!
